A 36-year-old man and his girlfriend have been arrested in connection with the death of his 4-year-old son in Palmdale, California, authorities reported on Thursday.
Andrew Havrella, 36, and Lacie Fetters, 25, face charges of child assault resulting in death and child abuse following the death of 4-year-old Ryker Havrella.

The investigation began on December 3, 2024, after the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to a medical emergency call in the 1300 block of Pearblossom Highway. Although the exact cause of the child’s death remains unclear, he was later pronounced dead at a hospital in Lancaster that evening, according to the medical examiner’s office.
The case was submitted to the district attorney’s office on Tuesday for consideration of charges. Fetters is currently being held in custody and is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday, while Havrella is set for arraignment on February 20.
The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the child’s death.
