Four Kids Found in ‘Deplorable Conditions’ After Man’s Overdose in San Bernardino County

Authorities in San Bernardino County made a harrowing discovery when they responded to a call about a 21-year-old man who had reportedly overdosed on fentanyl in Adelanto. Deputies found the man in critical condition inside a small trailer, and their investigation revealed disturbing circumstances involving four young children.

On Thursday, deputies were called to a property in the 12000 block of Chamberlaine Way. The Sheriff’s Department confirmed that the man, whose identity has not been released, was found in a bumper pull trailer. First responders immediately administered NARCAN and continued lifesaving efforts before the man was rushed to a nearby hospital. No updates on his condition have been provided.

As deputies investigated further, they made a shocking discovery. The four children, aged between 6 and 10, were found asleep inside the trailer, surrounded by what the authorities described as “deplorable conditions.” In addition, drug paraphernalia was found in close proximity to the children, raising serious concerns about their safety and well-being.

The investigation led to the arrests of three individuals connected to the case. The children’s parents, 29-year-old Moriah Amesquita and 30-year-old Jacob Hernandez, along with 28-year-old Jonathan Garcia, were taken into custody. All three are residents of Adelanto, and they were booked at the High Desert Detention Center. Authorities later reported that Amesquita was found in possession of fentanyl at the time of her arrest.

The four children were taken into protective custody by Child and Family Services, and their well-being is now being closely monitored.
