A Florida elementary school principal was arrested after hosting a party where more than 100 children were found drinking alcohol, authorities said.
Elizabeth Hill-Brodigan, 47, the principal of Roosevelt Elementary School in Cocoa Beach, was taken into custody on January 19 following a call about a house party. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a large group of kids, many of whom were wearing matching t-shirts. Inside the house, alcohol was found in coolers, and numerous children appeared to be consuming it.
One child, severely intoxicated, was found on the lawn suffering from an alcohol-related medical emergency. The Brevard County Fire Rescue responded to the scene, treating the child for the episode.
At the time of the emergency, Hill-Brodigan was seen by officers outside her home, turning off the exterior lights before entering the house. This delayed emergency responders, who had to use their vehicle’s auxiliary lights to assist the child.
Authorities also reported that another child was arrested for DUI in the vicinity of Hill-Brodigan’s home.

Karly Anderson, an intoxicated teacher from Roosevelt Elementary, was also present at the party. She approached officers and identified herself as a teacher before being arrested. Both Hill-Brodigan and Anderson face charges of child neglect and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, with Hill-Brodigan additionally charged with hosting an open house party.
Brevard Public Schools has placed both women on administrative leave as the investigation continues. In a statement, the district expressed its concern, emphasizing its commitment to student safety and full cooperation with law enforcement.
Hill-Brodigan, who has been with the district for over two decades, was once named “Teacher of the Year” according to her school bio. In her profile, she described her deep connection with students, families, and staff, stating, “Students, families, and staff are very close to my heart, I really enjoy what I do.”
