Woman Stabbed in East Hollywood: Suspect Captured on Video

Authorities are on the hunt for a suspect involved in a violent stabbing incident that took place in East Hollywood on January 18.

The attack occurred around noon near the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and Edgemont Street. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the assault appeared to be unprovoked.

Surveillance footage shows the suspect approaching a group of three pedestrians from behind on the sidewalk. Without warning, he targeted a woman, stabbing her in the neck and face before fleeing the scene.

The woman was visibly in pain, clutching her head, while her companions stood in shock. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the location, and the woman was transported to a hospital for treatment.

The suspect was last seen running eastbound on Santa Monica Boulevard towards the Vermont/Santa Monica MTA station.

Described as a Hispanic male in his 30s, the suspect stands about 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs around 180 pounds. He has dark hair and brown eyes.

In an effort to identify the suspect, the LAPD has released an image from the surveillance video.
