Suspect Shot and Killed by Murrieta Police After Domestic Violence Incident

A domestic violence suspect was shot and killed by police during an officer-involved shooting at an apartment complex in Murrieta late Wednesday night. The incident took place at the Pacific Landing Apartments on Creighton Avenue at approximately 11:45 p.m.

Officers responded to the scene after receiving a call about a domestic violence situation. When they arrived, they attempted to make contact with the suspect but received no response after knocking on the door. Concerned about the situation, the officers forced entry into the apartment.

Once inside, they encountered a 57-year-old man who was armed with a handgun. During the confrontation, shots were fired, and the suspect was struck. He was transported to Inland Valley Hospital but was later pronounced dead.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office Force Investigation Detail is handling the case, and no officers were injured in the incident. The initial disturbance that led to the police response has not been disclosed.
