A weekend altercation at a Colton restaurant escalated into gunfire when a man allegedly opened fire on patrons while driving away, authorities reported Friday.
The incident took place just before 12:30 a.m. Saturday on the 800 block of East Valley Boulevard, according to Colton police. Witnesses reported hearing gunshots following a disturbance at the restaurant. Shortly after, a man involved in the dispute allegedly returned in a vehicle and fired multiple rounds at customers.
Detectives later identified 34-year-old Roberto GarciaVieyra as the suspect. He was arrested without incident on Thursday, and officers recovered a firearm believed to have been used in the shooting.
