Authorities are investigating a fatal collision involving a pedestrian on the 110 Freeway in central Los Angeles early Saturday morning.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) received reports around 6:30 a.m. of a person lying in the southbound lanes just north of First Street. When officers arrived, they found the pedestrian had suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary findings suggest the individual was already on the freeway lanes before any vehicles approached. A Honda Civic was the first car to hit the pedestrian, and authorities believe additional vehicles may have also struck the victim, according to CHP officials.
