Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting near Athens Park that left two men dead and five others wounded in an unincorporated area west of Willowbrook on Friday night.
Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) responded to reports of gunfire around 8 p.m. in the 13200 block of Jarvis Avenue, near Main and San Pedro streets. Upon arrival, they discovered two men suffering from gunshot wounds.

Emergency crews from the Los Angeles County Fire Department transported the two victims to a hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
During the investigation, authorities learned that five additional victims—including four men and one boy—had also been shot. They were taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the LASD.
