Southern California Crash: 58-Year-Old Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Motorcycle

Over the weekend in Orange County, a tragic collision between a motorcyclist and a pedestrian resulted in the death of a 58-year-old man, according to local officials.

The incident took place on February 1 just after 7 p.m. on North Euclid Street, specifically within the 1000 block, as reported in a social media update by the Santa Ana Police Department. Preliminary investigations indicate that Hoang Mai Phan, a Garden Grove resident, was walking east along Euclid Street when he was struck by a motorcycle traveling southbound.

Emergency responders from both the Orange County Fire Authority and local police rushed to the scene, where Phan received treatment for his injuries. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

Authorities have noted that the motorcyclist, who remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, did not exhibit signs of intoxication or drug impairment. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is still ongoing.
