A group of quick-thinking neighbors took action to stop a suspected arsonist in Chatsworth, chasing him down and restraining him until law enforcement arrived.
The incident occurred on Monday afternoon along Woolsey Canyon Road, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Witnesses reported seeing the man ignite a brush fire near Knapp Ranch Road and immediately pursued him.

Dashcam footage recorded the intense moment when the neighbors caught up to the suspect and detained him. By the time deputies arrived, the man was already pinned to the ground by the group.
Fortunately, firefighters responded quickly and were able to extinguish the flames before the fire spread further.
The suspect was taken into custody on arson charges and is expected to appear in court later this week.
