Tree Trimmer Rescued After Being Tangled, Shocked by Power Lines

A tree trimmer in Westwood was hospitalized Saturday after he came into contact with electrical wires while suspended 25 feet above the ground, officials said.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to an emergency call at approximately 11:05 a.m. near The Los Angeles Country Club. Upon arrival, rescue crews found a 40-year-old man tangled in his safety harness with his trimming pole caught in high-voltage power lines.

Authorities stated that the man faced an ongoing risk of intermittent electrical contact. At one point, he was shocked by the live wires but remained conscious and responsive.

Firefighters worked quickly to de-energize the power lines, and by 11:56 a.m., they successfully rescued him.

The man was transported to a nearby hospital, though his condition has not been disclosed.

Officials have not released further details regarding the incident.
