Tragic Discovery: Homeless Woman Murdered at Santa Monica Beach

Authorities in Santa Monica have launched a homicide investigation after a woman was found dead on the beach early Monday morning.

Lifeguards made the grim discovery around 7:05 a.m., locating the victim inside a sleeping bag along the shoreline near the 1500 block of the beach.

Santa Monica Police reported that the woman had suffered significant trauma to her face, leading investigators to suspect foul play. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim has not yet been identified, but authorities estimate she was around 30 years old and experiencing homelessness.
