The United States is home to many welcoming and friendly communities, but some cities have developed a reputation for rudeness. Whether it’s hurried lifestyles, a lack of courtesy, or unfriendly social interactions, certain cities have been labeled as less hospitable than others.
A recent study by Preply analyzed social behaviors across major metropolitan areas, identifying the rudest cities in the country. The ranking was based on factors such as lack of public awareness, noise levels in shared spaces, and interactions with service workers.
Which California Cities Made the List?
California had several cities land on the list, with Oakland ranking as the rudest city in the state, coming in at #5 nationwide. Other Golden State cities included:
- Long Beach (#9)
- San Francisco (#14)
- Sacramento (#19)
- Los Angeles (#25)
- San Jose (#39)
