Long Beach Hit-and-Run: Motorcyclist Hospitalized in Critical Condition

A motorcyclist is fighting for his life after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Long Beach.

The crash happened on the evening of Feb. 7 at the intersection of Pacific Avenue and 7th Street. Officers with the Long Beach Police Department responded to the scene at around 6:05 p.m.

According to authorities, the motorcyclist was heading north on Pacific Avenue when a westbound pickup truck on 7th Street entered the intersection and crashed into him. The driver of the truck did not stop and fled the scene without rendering aid.

Investigators have not yet determined which vehicle had the right-of-way at the time of the collision.

The motorcyclist sustained severe injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Surveillance cameras captured images of the suspect’s vehicle shortly before the crash. Authorities describe it as a black Chevrolet pickup truck, possibly a recent model, with “4×4” decals positioned above the rear tires. The truck likely has visible front-end damage from the impact.
