ADELANTO, CA – A 40-year-old man was arrested in San Bernardino County after allegedly assaulting his wife while armed and threatening to kill her and their young children, authorities said on Friday.
Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department (SBSD) responded to a domestic disturbance at a home on Rosedale Drive in Adelanto around 7:49 p.m. on February 13. The caller reported that the suspect was armed and attacking his wife.
Upon arrival, deputies evacuated the residence and detained the suspect, later identified as Dale Allen Roos, a convicted felon.
Investigators determined that Roos had physically assaulted his wife, who was subsequently transported to a hospital for treatment. Her condition remains undisclosed.

Authorities also stated that Roos had threatened to kill his wife and their children, all under the age of 15, using an AK-47 rifle. A search of the home led to the discovery of the assault rifle, along with multiple other firearms.
Roos was taken into custody and booked into the High Desert Detention Center on multiple charges, including assault with a deadly weapon, spousal abuse, possession of an illegal assault weapon, felon in possession of ammunition, and manufacturing a high-capacity magazine. His bail was set at $150,000.
