Thousands of consumers who purchased certain Bosch kitchen appliances may be entitled to compensation from a $2 million settlement—but the window to file a claim is closing fast.
The lawsuit was filed against Bosch Home Appliances, a division of BSH Hausgeräte GmbH, alleging that some of its microwave and oven models contained faulty variable-frequency drive (VFD) control panels. Plaintiffs argued that these defects caused the panels to fade, dim, become unreadable, or fail altogether.
While Bosch has denied any wrongdoing, the company has agreed to a settlement to compensate affected customers.
Who Is Eligible for a Payment?
The settlement covers individuals who purchased, received, or acquired select Bosch microwaves or ovens as part of a home purchase or renovation. The affected models include:
- HBL5751UC
- HBL8751UC
- HBLP751UC
- HMC80151UC
- HMC80251UC
- HMC87151UC

Potential Payouts & Service Plans
Consumers who qualify can receive benefits under three different tiers:
- Tier 1(a): Those who can provide proof of past out-of-pocket expenses for repairs related to panel failures may receive up to $400.
- Tier 1(b): Customers without receipts but who own an affected appliance may still be eligible for compensation.
- Tier 2: Bosch is offering a three-year extended service plan, which covers the replacement of faulty VFD control panels for qualifying appliances.
To submit a claim, applicants must provide acceptable documentation such as model and serial numbers, purchase receipts, warranty registrations, service records, or repair communications.
Claim Deadline
Eligible individuals must file a claim by February 12, 2025, to receive Tier 1(b) or Tier 2 benefits.
Other Settlement Opportunities
If you missed this deadline, other class-action settlements are still open:
