A man lost his life in a violent series of events in the San Fernando Valley after being pursued by an armed suspect, shot, and then struck by a passing vehicle.
The Los Angeles Police Department reported that officers responded to a shooting in the 11600 block of Sherman Way around 8 p.m. on Friday. According to investigators, the victim—a Hispanic male—was being chased by another man, also described as Hispanic. During the pursuit, the suspect pulled out a firearm and shot the victim before fleeing the scene.
As the wounded man lay on the ground, an unidentified vehicle ran over him and did not stop, police said. The driver fled, and it remains unclear whether they were aware of what had happened moments before.

Emergency responders from the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived shortly after but pronounced the victim dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released.
Authorities have not confirmed if the shooting was gang-related and have not provided further details about the suspect or motive.
The location of the shooting was identified as a Home Depot parking lot. Video footage from the Citizen App shows crime scene tape cordoning off sections of the lot while officers interviewed witnesses.
The LAPD is urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward as the investigation continues .
