A teenage boy riding a minibike lost his life in a hit-and-run crash early Sunday morning in South Los Angeles.
Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to a collision near West Century Boulevard and San Pedro Street around 2 a.m. after receiving reports of a crash involving a vehicle and a minibike.

Footage from the scene revealed that the impact was severe, with the minibike becoming completely lodged beneath the front of the black hatchback that struck it. The vehicle also showed visible signs of damage from the crash.
Witnesses initially stated that the victim was a teenager, and authorities later confirmed he was a 16-year-old boy. The driver responsible for the crash fled the scene and remains unidentified as of early Sunday morning.
Police have not yet provided a description of the suspect or any further details about the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
