Last Chance! Universal Studios Hollywood to End High-Octane Ride

As Universal Studios Hollywood prepares to debut its upcoming “Fast & Furious”-themed rollercoaster, another attraction based on the high-octane film franchise is gearing up for its final ride.

“Fast & Furious—Supercharged,” the action-packed finale of the park’s Studio Tour, will officially close on March 10, ending its decade-long run of high-speed thrills.

A Final Ride with the Fast Family

Since its debut, the 3D motion-simulation experience has transported Studio Tour visitors into the world of Dominic Toretto, Letty Ortiz, and Roman Pearce, placing them in a high-stakes chase as they attempt to escape the villain Owen Shaw.

Fans of the “Fast & Furious” saga are encouraged to take one last ride before the attraction is permanently retired.

A New Chapter with “Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift”

While “Supercharged” is set to close, the Fast & Furious franchise isn’t leaving the park. The new outdoor rollercoaster, “Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift,” is expected to open sometime next year, offering a new thrill ride inspired by the high-speed world of street racing.

What’s Next for the Studio Tour?

Universal Studios has not yet revealed what will replace “Fast & Furious—Supercharged” on the Studio Tour, but an official announcement is expected soon.

Rumors suggest that the vacant space could be transformed into an attraction inspired by the upcoming “Wicked” films, as a Universal Studios executive has previously teased that the musical blockbuster could have a presence in the parks.

Before “Supercharged,” this section of the Studio Tour featured a mummy-themed rotating tunnel from 2001 to 2013, which was based on the 1999 Brendan Fraser-led “The Mummy”. In earlier decades, the tunnel was used for a snowy avalanche simulation.

As Universal continues to evolve, fans can expect new and exciting experiences—but for now, it’s time for one last Fast & Furious ride before the attraction speeds off into the sunset .
