L.A. County Officers Searching for Suspect Who Fired at Drone Pilot

A court hearing for two alleged members of the Vagos biker gang, facing multiple felony charges, has been rescheduled for next week following the discovery of drugs and a firearm during a search in Mojave, according to legal records.

Defendants and Charges

Robert Allen Klein, 56, has entered a not guilty plea to charges related to firearm possession, narcotics, gang activity, and reckless evasion. His co-defendant, James Melville Rogers Jr., 50, has also pleaded not guilty to charges of possessing ammunition illegally, receiving stolen property, and participating in gang-related activity.

Investigation and Evidence

Authorities executed a search warrant on February 13 at a property on 60th Street West, where they reportedly uncovered a loaded firearm, 44 grams of methamphetamine, and a vest with Vagos gang insignia.

Rogers was already facing charges from a separate 2023 case, which included being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen vehicle, and resisting arrest, according to court documents.

Additional Details

Authorities have released information about a vehicle connected to the case, described as having oxidized paint on the roof, temporary DMV registration on the rear window, and black rims.

The vehicle was last seen traveling southbound on Highway 39 before disappearing from view, officials said.

Additionally, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) shared images of a suspect allegedly pointing a handgun at a victim. The suspect was last seen wearing a checkered flannel shirt with a black hood, light gray pants, and red and white high-top sneakers.
