Costco Confirms Two New Store Openings in California

Costco is expanding its footprint in 2025 with seven new warehouse locations across multiple states, including two in California, the company recently confirmed.

According to Costco’s website, six of these U.S. stores are expected to open in March, with one additional location set for April. Given the retailer’s aggressive growth in recent years, more openings are likely to be announced later.

New Costco Locations Slated for 2025

As of now, the following seven U.S. locations have been scheduled for grand openings:

• Brentwood, California (Bay Area) – March 2025
• Highland, California – March 2025
• Stuart, Florida – April 2025
• Sharon, Massachusetts – March 2025
• Genesee County, Michigan – March 2025
• Prosper, Texas – March 2025
• Weatherford, Texas – March 2025

While exact addresses have not been disclosed, more details may emerge as opening dates approach.

Global Expansion Continues

Beyond the U.S., Costco also announced two international locations set to debut next year:

• Minami-Alps, Japan (Yamanashi Prefecture)
• Ardeer, Australia (Victoria)

More Openings Likely on the Horizon

Given its steady growth, Costco is expected to exceed these seven openings in 2025. In 2024, the company opened 29 stores worldwide, with 23 of those in the U.S. The previous year, 23 new warehouses were added, including 13 domestic locations.

Costco CEO Ron Vachris previously stated that the company aims to open 29 new locations in 2025, including three relocations. Of those, 19 will be in the U.S.

Though additional locations have yet to be officially announced, reports indicate that new warehouses are being developed in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, and South Los Angeles, though opening timelines remain unclear.

As the company continues expanding, Costco fans can expect further updates in the months ahead.
