Los Angeles, CA – Several homes in Los Angeles were raided by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers early Friday morning, leaving residents shaken. The raids, which occurred between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m., targeted locations from the Pico-Union neighborhood to South Los Angeles.
Residents Caught Off Guard
One resident, Elvis Vasquez, recalled the unsettling moment when federal agents entered his home near West 10th Place.
“I had just stepped out of the shower, expecting a normal Friday,” Vasquez said. “Suddenly, I saw three people pointing guns at me.”
While Vasquez’s mother was not detained, his friend’s mother was taken into custody.
“They had a warrant, so there was nothing we could do,” he explained.
Homes Disrupted, Families in Distress
Another witness, who requested to remain anonymous, said the officers left homes in disarray after their searches.

“They went through everything, including the basement, and left a huge mess,” the witness stated.
Increased Immigration Crackdowns
The raids come just over a month into President Trump’s second term, as federal authorities intensify immigration enforcement efforts nationwide. Arrests have been reported in several major cities, including Los Angeles.
Some community members expressed deep concern, fearing that families could be separated.
“People are just going about their day—taking their kids to school or walking their dogs—when suddenly, a fleet of trucks arrives, and entire families are taken away,” a neighbor said. “It’s terrifying. We don’t know what to expect anymore.”
As enforcement efforts continue, local communities remain on edge, uncertain about what the future holds .
