Authorities have arrested an 18-year-old in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in Long Beach two weeks ago.
The Long Beach Police Department announced that John Paul McIntyre III, a Long Beach resident, was taken into custody on Friday at a residence in Los Angeles. He is facing a murder charge and is currently being held at the Long Beach City Jail with bail set at $3 million.

The shooting, which took place on February 16 in the 1700 block of Long Beach Boulevard, resulted in the death of 32-year-old Edgar Ortiz-Escamilla. Another man was also injured in the incident but survived.
Authorities have not disclosed what evidence led to McIntyre’s arrest, and further details about the case remain unclear.
The investigation is ongoing, and police have not provided additional information at this time.
