Los Angeles County (Thechieftainspear) – Law enforcement officials are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a Hawthorne man accused of opening fire on Redondo Beach police officers.
During a press conference on Tuesday, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and Redondo Beach authorities announced the reward in their ongoing search for 35-year-old Lester Yohan Castro.
The incident occurred on Feb. 21 when officers attempted to stop Castro, who was riding a motorcycle in the 12800 block of Prairie Avenue. Instead of complying, he fled on foot, leading officers on a chase.
According to officials, Castro ran to the 12900 block of Roselle Avenue, where he pulled out a handgun and fired multiple shots at pursuing officers. One officer returned fire, but Castro managed to escape by running through nearby backyards, despite an extensive search.
