Hunter Biden Cites Financial Struggles in Bid to Dismiss Laptop Case

California (Thechieftainspear) – Hunter Biden has decided to withdraw his lawsuit against former Trump aide Garrett Ziegler, citing financial struggles that have made it difficult to continue legal proceedings. Court documents filed Wednesday in California reveal that Biden, facing significant debt and declining income, has asked a federal judge to dismiss the case.

Biden’s attorneys noted that their client’s financial situation has deteriorated, leaving him unable to sustain the litigation. They stated that his financial woes worsened after wildfires in Los Angeles’ Pacific Palisades area rendered his rental home uninhabitable, forcing him into an unstable living situation.

“He has struggled to find permanent housing and secure a reliable income,” his lawyers wrote, emphasizing that Biden needs to prioritize his family’s living expenses and relocation efforts over the lawsuit.

The lawsuit, originally filed in September 2023, accused Ziegler and his company, Marco Polo, of unlawfully publishing emails from a laptop attributed to Biden. Ziegler, who previously served as an aide to Trump’s trade adviser Peter Navarro, had dismissed the legal action as “baseless.”

While a judge had previously ruled against Ziegler’s motion to dismiss the case and even ordered him to pay around $18,000 toward Biden’s legal fees, the president’s son is now unable to pursue the matter further.

In a related filing, Biden disclosed that he is deep in debt, with no viable way to borrow money. His anticipated earnings from book sales and artwork have fallen short of expectations. According to his attorneys, he had hoped for paid speaking engagements and increased sales from his memoir and paintings, but those opportunities have not materialized.

Biden revealed that while he previously sold 27 pieces of artwork at an average price of $54,500 over the past few years, he has managed to sell only one piece for $36,000 since the lawsuit began. His book sales have also declined significantly, dropping from over 3,100 copies sold between April and September 2023 to just 1,100 in the following six months.

NBC News has previously reported on Biden’s financial struggles, including unsuccessful attempts to establish a legal defense fund.

Biden has faced legal challenges on multiple fronts. He was convicted on federal gun charges last year and later pleaded guilty in a tax-related case. His father, President Joe Biden, granted him a pardon in December, shortly before his sentencing in the gun case was set to take place.

An attorney for Ziegler did not immediately respond to requests for comment, and Biden’s legal team also declined to discuss the case further.
