Orange County(Thechieftainspear) – A 19-year-old suspect was taken into custody following the fatal shooting of a man in Garden Grove, authorities announced.
Police responded to reports of gunfire in a parking lot near 9622 Garden Grove Blvd. on Feb. 21 at 11:20 p.m. When officers arrived, they discovered 26-year-old Trieu Huynh suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries three days later.
After an investigation, detectives identified the suspected shooter as Chan Tham Giang, a Garden Grove resident. On Feb. 26, law enforcement officials detained Giang in San Ysidro as he allegedly attempted to cross into Mexico.

A search warrant was later executed at Giang’s residence, and he was arrested and booked into Orange County Jail.
Authorities have not yet determined whether the victim and suspect knew each other, and the motive behind the shooting remains under investigation.
“Detectives are continuing their investigation to determine if additional individuals were involved in the case,” police stated.
