19-Year-Old Arrested in Deadly Anaheim Shooting Case

Anaheim (Thechieftainspear) – 19-year-old man has been taken into custody in connection with a fatal shooting in Anaheim, police confirmed.

On Feb. 27, authorities received reports of a driver slumped over inside a vehicle near Ball Road and Sunkist Avenue at approximately 6 p.m. When officers arrived, they found the unresponsive man had suffered a gunshot wound. Paramedics provided medical aid before rushing him to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The victim was identified as 32-year-old Anthony Aceves Espino, an Anaheim resident.

Following an investigation by homicide detectives, the Gang Unit, and the Crime Task Force, police arrested 19-year-old Lawrence Romero of Orange on Tuesday. He was taken into custody without incident and booked on a murder charge.

Authorities plan to present the case to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office for further review.

The investigation remains ongoing, and officials have not disclosed any additional details regarding the shooting.
