TJ Maxx to Close All 1,319 Stores for a Full Day – Marshalls Also Unavailable

TJ Maxx has announced that it will close all of its 1,319 U.S. stores on Christmas Day, following tradition. This closure means loyal shoppers will need to find alternatives for their holiday shopping.

The 24-hour shutdown is a part of the retailer’s commitment to allowing its employees to spend Christmas with their families. This decision is in line with other major retailers also closing for the holiday.

While TJ Maxx stores will remain closed on December 25, shopping will resume on December 26. Most locations typically operate from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays. This year, TJ Maxx will open at 8 a.m. on December 26 to give shoppers an early start.

Sister stores under TJX Companies, including Marshalls, will also be closed on Christmas Day, meaning bargain hunters will need to wait until the next day for in-store shopping. While many retailers are relying on online shopping alternatives, both TJ Maxx and Marshalls have a limited online presence compared to competitors.

If you need to shop on Christmas Day, there are still options available. Amazon offers same-day delivery for some items, and both CVS and Walgreens will be open for any last-minute health or holiday needs. Grocery chains like 7-Eleven and Wawa are also likely to operate in some areas.

It’s always a good idea to check your local store’s hours for any changes or exceptions to their holiday schedule.
