Robbery Turns Deadly: Man Killed Over Chain in South LA

South Los Angeles(Thechieftainspear) – A man was shot and killed early Saturday morning in South Los Angeles after resisting an attempted robbery, authorities said.

The incident occurred around 3:15 a.m. near the intersection of Florence and Western Avenues in the Harvard Park neighborhood, according to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).

According to police, the victim was confronted by four men who attempted to steal his chain. When he refused to hand it over, one of the suspects pulled out a firearm and opened fire, striking the victim multiple times.

Emergency responders transported the unidentified man to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The suspects fled the scene, though their direction of escape remains unclear. No detailed suspect descriptions have been released, but investigators confirmed the shooting was not gang-related.

Video footage captured a strong police presence outside Burger Palace, located at the intersection where the shooting occurred, though officials have not confirmed if the attack happened directly in front of the restaurant.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the case to contact the LAPD.
