Reported Kidnapping in South LA: Victims Forced Across City

The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating a reported kidnapping incident in which two women were allegedly forced into a vehicle and driven across South Los Angeles early Monday morning.

According to an LAPD spokesperson, the incident occurred around 2 a.m. at the intersection of 111th Street and Compton Avenue in Watts. The victims reported being forced into a car by three men.

The women told police they were driven to Bellflower and then to Long Beach. They managed to exit the vehicle on Cherry Avenue near the 6600 block, though it is unclear whether they were dropped off or escaped.

The victims called 911 from Cherry Avenue, and responding officers confirmed that neither woman was harmed.

Video footage from the scene shows the two women speaking with officers. Police have not yet determined whether the male suspects were known to the victims.

The investigation is ongoing, and no further details have been released at this time.
