LOS ANGELES(Thechieftainspear) – A man lost his life early Saturday morning after a group of four men attempted to steal his chain in South Los Angeles, authorities said.
The incident occurred around 3:15 a.m. near the intersection of Florence and Western avenues in the Harvard Park neighborhood, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Officials say the four suspects approached the victim on foot and demanded his jewelry. When the victim refused to comply, one of the assailants pulled out a firearm and opened fire multiple times.

The wounded man was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. His identity has not yet been released.
The suspects fled the area, though their direction of escape remains unknown. Investigators have not provided descriptions of the suspects but confirmed the attack was not linked to gang activity.
Footage from the scene showed a heavy police presence outside Burger Palace at the Florence and Western intersection, though authorities have not confirmed if the shooting took place at the business.
