Tragic Discovery: Pamela Alcantara’s Body Found in Suitcase by Roadside

(Thechieftainspear) – A missing 26-year-old woman was tragically found dead inside a suitcase near the border of Yonkers and the Bronx on Thursday, just days after pleading with her mother to pray for her.

Pamela Alcantara had last been seen around 2 a.m. on Sunday at her home, hours after she was captured on surveillance footage speaking on the phone with her mother. When she failed to appear at a church event in Connecticut later that day, loved ones became increasingly worried.

Authorities discovered her remains stuffed inside a red suitcase by the side of the road, ending a frantic search. According to WABC-TV, Alcantara had been in the process of moving out of the apartment she shared with her ex-boyfriend after a three-year relationship.

Family members suspect her ex-partner was aware of her plans to leave. Her cousin, Naysa Peguero, alleged that he had placed recording devices in her bedroom and car.

Peguero also revealed an unsettling conversation Alcantara had with her mother before she vanished. “She just said, ‘Mom, I want you to pray for me,’ and that was it,” Peguero recalled.

Adding to the mystery, Alcantara’s Facebook profile appeared altered, displaying only a profile picture and no other activity.

Her family searched her apartment on Monday and found the bedroom in disarray, though the rest of the space remained tidy.

Loved ones are devastated by the loss. “She was only 26,” a grieving relative told News12. “She had her whole life ahead of her. It’s like having cold water thrown on you.”

Law enforcement sources told The New York Post that Alcantara’s ex-boyfriend has been arrested after authorities tracked his license plate. However, it remains unclear whether he has been officially charged.

In an effort to cover funeral and transportation costs, Alcantara’s family launched two GoFundMe campaigns. One fundraiser, Help Us Lay Pamela Alcántara Rubiera to Rest, has raised over $1,600 to assist in returning her remains to the Dominican Republic, where she will be laid to rest beside her younger sister.

Another GoFundMe, Honoring My Sister’s Final Journey, has raised over $2,700. In the campaign description, Alcantara’s family expressed their heartbreak: “Pamela was missing since Sunday, March 2. We searched everywhere, put up flyers, and spread the word. After five days, we found her body. Please, anything helps.”

As the investigation continues, her loved ones are left mourning a life cut tragically short .
