(Thechieftainspear) – A popular stroller fan has been recalled after multiple reports of children suffering injuries from the product’s blades. The recall affects more than 33,000 Nuby Stroller Fans, distributed by Louisiana-based importer Luv n’ Care.
According to a recall alert from the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the fans pose a safety risk because the protective housing is inadequate, allowing children to reach the spinning blades. This design flaw has resulted in at least seven reported incidents, with six cases leading to finger lacerations.
Immediate Action Recommended
Consumers who own the recalled fans should stop using them right away and reach out to Luv n’ Care for a replacement. The company has begun notifying all known purchasers directly and is offering safer replacement fans to affected customers.
Where Were the Fans Sold?
The recalled stroller fans were available for purchase online through Nuby’s website and Amazon, as well as major retailers such as Target and Burlington Coat Factory. These products, manufactured in China, were sold between May and June 2015 for approximately $15 each.
How to Identify the Recalled Fans
Customers can check if their fan is included in the recall by looking at the back label, which lists the model number (25128) and lot number (N8K10X).
