Pomona (Thechieftainspear) – Authorities in Pomona have arrested a suspect in connection with the shooting death of a local man.
According to the Pomona Police Department, Jose Oquendo Jr., 30, was taken into custody following an investigation into a deadly shooting that occurred on March 4.
Shooting Investigation
Officers responded to a report of a man down on the 1600 block of Indian Hill Boulevard at approximately 7:40 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered 31-year-old James Bunch, a Pomona resident, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency responders transported Bunch to a nearby hospital, but he later succumbed to his injuries. The suspect had already fled before police arrived.

Arrest and Charges
After gathering evidence, detectives identified Oquendo as the primary suspect in the case. He was arrested and is currently being held on $3.05 million bail.
On March 10, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office formally charged him with murder and felon in possession of a firearm.
Ongoing Investigation
Authorities have not yet determined a motive for the shooting, and the investigation remains ongoing.
