California (Thechieftainspear) – A California city has once again claimed the title of happiest city in America, according to a new WalletHub study that ranked 182 major cities across the country.

The study evaluated cities based on three main factors: Emotional & Physical Well-being, Income & Employment, and Community & Environment. These elements, WalletHub explains, contribute to overall happiness by ensuring residents have strong mental health, financial security, and social connections.

Fremont Takes the Top Spot

For yet another year, Fremont, California has been named the happiest city in the U.S.. The Northern California city consistently ranks high due to its strong life satisfaction scores, low depression rates, and long average life expectancy.

Other key factors that make Fremont stand out include:

  • Highest percentage of households earning more than $75,000 annually
  • Lowest divorce and separation rate in the country at just 8.9%
  • Fewest residents reporting poor mental health, with a low number of adults experiencing frequent distress

California cities dominated the rankings, with seven locations making the top 20. Here are the top 10 happiest cities in America, per WalletHub’s study:

  4. Sioux Falls, SD
  5. Overland Park, KS
  6. Lincoln, NE
  7. Madison, WI
  8. Scottsdale, AZ
  9. San Francisco, CA
  10. Huntington Beach, CA

Meanwhile, Los Angeles landed much lower on the list, coming in at 77th place.
