Los Angeles(Thechieftainspear) – A wave of unexplained crow shootings in a Westchester neighborhood has left residents uneasy, fearing for both wildlife and public safety. The disturbing trend has persisted for years near the 8300 block of Chase Avenue, but locals say the incidents have become more frequent and alarming.
Brenna Lenoir, a longtime resident, shared that the gunfire often originates from the east, one street over, though the shooter remains unidentified. “It’s terrifying because you never know if a stray bullet could ricochet and hurt someone,” Lenoir said. “Not knowing who is responsible or what their intentions are is really unsettling.”
The latest occurrence happened on March 8, when three crows were found dead from gunfire and another was injured. Lenoir took the wounded bird to the California Wildlife Center in Calabasas, hoping it could be saved.

Over the years, more than 100 birds—including at least two hawks, which are federally protected—have been found shot, likely with a pellet or Airsoft rifle. Despite multiple calls to law enforcement, the perpetrator remains unknown.
In response, police have encouraged neighbors to install surveillance cameras facing east in hopes of identifying the person responsible.
“I just want this to stop,” Lenoir said. “No one should have to see dead birds scattered across their neighborhood, and no one should have to feel unsafe walking outside.”
As concerns grow, residents remain hopeful that whoever is behind these shootings will be caught before more damage is done.
