Earthquake Safety Tips

Being prepared for an earthquake can help reduce the risk of injury. The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) recommends the following safety measures:

  • Drop – Get down on your hands and knees to avoid being knocked over. This position allows you to move to safety if needed.
  • Cover – Shield your head and neck with one arm. If possible, take cover under a sturdy table or desk. If no shelter is available, crouch near an interior wall away from windows.
  • Hold On – Remain in place and hold onto your cover until the shaking stops. If the furniture you are under moves, be prepared to shift with it.

This remains a developing story. Check back for updates as more details become available .
