Orange County(Thechieftainspear) – Authorities in San Clemente are actively searching for a man accused of stabbing an Orange County Sheriff’s Department deputy, officials confirmed to KTLA.
The incident occurred around 2:15 p.m. when a female deputy conducting routine homeless outreach on foot near the 1700 block of Avenida Estacion reported to dispatch that she had been attacked by a known transient.
Shortly after 2:30 p.m., the sheriff’s department issued a public advisory via social media, warning residents to steer clear of Avenida Pico and Calle de Los Molinos due to ongoing law enforcement activity.

The suspect is described as a white man in his mid-30s with brown hair, blue eyes, and a beard. He is approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs around 160 pounds. Witnesses last saw him fleeing toward a storm drain near Avenida Pico and El Camino Real, wearing a black jacket and dark-colored pants.
The deputy suffered a minor neck wound and was transported to the hospital for medical care. Her injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening.
As a precaution, officials placed San Clemente High School and Las Palmas Elementary on lockdown. As of 6 p.m., authorities had not confirmed whether students and staff remained inside the buildings.
Law enforcement urges the public not to approach the suspect if spotted and to immediately call 911. The search remains ongoing .
