On December 20, 2024, at approximately 4:15 p.m., the Shreveport Police Department’s Violent Crime Abatement Team (VCAT), with assistance from patrol officers, carried out a search warrant in the 800 block of Wingate Circle. The operation was prompted by ongoing concerns about illegal firearms in the area.
Among those arrested was an individual recently convicted for obstruction of justice related to a 2021 shooting, which resulted in one fatality and two injuries. The shooting also caused a bullet to strike a nearby hospital on Bert Kouns Industrial Loop.
