Los Angeles(Thechieftainspear) – A grieving family is urging the driver responsible for a devastating hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of 4-year-old Ma’Cya Clark to come forward and face justice.
On March 18, the suspect, a 37-year-old woman, was behind the wheel of an Infiniti FX35 SUV, carrying Ma’Cya and his mother as passengers. According to Los Angeles Police Department investigators, she was speeding through the Baldwin Hills/Crenshaw neighborhood when she lost control of the vehicle. The SUV veered off the road and crashed into a building near Crenshaw Boulevard and Rodeo Place.
Instead of staying at the scene, the driver fled, abandoning the wrecked SUV and escaping in a white sedan.
Emergency responders transported Ma’Cya and his mother to the hospital. Sadly, the young boy succumbed to his injuries, while his mother was left with multiple broken bones.
Over the weekend, heartbroken family members gathered at the crash site to mourn Ma’Cya and call for the suspect to take responsibility. His grandmother, Regina Gipson, expressed both grief and forgiveness.

“Please turn yourself in. I forgive you,” Gipson said through tears. “My grandson is gone, and nothing can bring him back. But doing the right thing is the only way forward.”
Relatives confirmed they know the suspect’s identity and revealed that she was once a close friend of Ma’Cya’s mother. However, police have yet to release her name, describing her only as a 37-year-old Black female.
Authorities are urging anyone with knowledge of the suspect’s whereabouts to come forward. LAPD Detective Moreno can be reached at 424-298-7898, and anonymous tips can be submitted through L.A. Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at lacrimestoppers.org.
LAPD also reminded drivers that fleeing an accident only worsens the consequences. “If involved in a crash, stop immediately, call for help, and remain at the scene,” officials stated.
As Ma’Cya’s loved ones struggle to cope with their loss, they hold onto hope that justice will be served .
