Video Captures Hit-and-Run, DUI Suspect Slowly Fleeing Alhambra Police

San Gabriel Valley(Thechieftainspear) –  A woman in San Gabriel Valley was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after a bizarrely slow attempt to evade officers, according to the Alhambra Police Department.

The incident began when officers responded to a hit-and-run near 4th Street and Mission Road. Upon locating the suspect’s vehicle, they attempted to engage with the driver, but she refused to comply.

According to police, the woman declined to roll down her window and remained motionless inside her vehicle, as if hoping she would go unnoticed.

After some time, she finally decided to move—but not in a high-speed chase. Instead, she slowly made a U-turn and drove toward her apartment complex, where she waited for the gate to open while officers followed close behind.

Once inside, she appeared stunned when she eventually unlocked her door, only to be met by officers who promptly took her into custody.

The driver was identified as Natalie Rankin of Alhambra. Authorities confirmed she was under the influence at the time and booked her into the Alhambra Police Department jail.

While details remain limited, no injuries were initially reported in connection with the incident .
