Gwyneth Paltrow Discusses Intimacy Coordinators & Working with Timothée Chalamet

(Thechieftainspear) – As she promotes her latest film, Marty Supreme, Gwyneth Paltrow has shared her thoughts on the growing use of intimacy coordinators in Hollywood—a role she admits she was largely unaware of, according to The Los Angeles Times.

Paltrow, a key figure in the #MeToo movement that reshaped industry standards in 2017, stars alongside Timothée Chalamet in the upcoming movie directed by Josh Safdie. The film, loosely inspired by the life of table tennis champion Martin “Marty” Reisman, features a romantic storyline between Paltrow’s character and Chalamet’s, leading to several intimate scenes.

Paltrow’s Take on Intimacy Coordinators

During a conversation about the film, the 52-year-old actress reflected on how things have changed in the industry. She recounted an experience on set when an intimacy coordinator checked in to ensure she was comfortable during a particular scene.

“I was like, ‘Okay, great. I’m 109 years old. You’re 14,’” she joked about working with the 29-year-old Chalamet.

She went on to explain that she and her co-star assured the coordinator they were comfortable and didn’t need as much oversight.

“I come from an era where you just got in bed, the cameras rolled, and that was it,” she said, adding that she wasn’t used to the structured guidance that intimacy coordinators provide.

While she acknowledged that these professionals play an important role, she also expressed that too much direction could feel restrictive.

A Star-Studded Career

Paltrow, who won an Academy Award for Shakespeare in Love in 1999, has worked with some of Hollywood’s biggest leading men, including Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., and Jude Law.

With Marty Supreme set for release on Christmas Day, audiences will soon see her latest performance alongside Chalamet in what is expected to be a compelling and unique take on the life of a sports icon.
