(Thechieftainspear) – Residents and property managers in West Hollywood are voicing their frustration after a string of mail thefts in which criminals appear to have obtained master keys to mailrooms and mailboxes.
Surveillance footage from apartment buildings along Kings Road has captured multiple incidents, primarily occurring in the early morning hours between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. The videos show suspects entering buildings effortlessly and using keys to access mailrooms, quickly grabbing mail and packages before slipping away.
How Did Thieves Get the Keys?
Many victims are left wondering how these thieves managed to obtain the master keys, which are typically reserved for U.S. Postal Service workers. Some residents suspect an inside job, raising concerns about how easily their mail has been compromised.
“They just take everything they can get their hands on,” one frustrated tenant said. “This has happened repeatedly, and it’s clear someone with access to these keys is involved.”

A property manager overseeing one of the targeted buildings said her mailroom has been broken into at least four times. Despite reporting the thefts to the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, she claims little has been done to address the issue.
“I’ve tried getting answers, but no real action has been taken,” she said. “At this point, they need to replace the locks entirely.”
No Arrests Yet
As of Sunday evening, no suspects have been taken into custody. Meanwhile, residents continue to demand stronger security measures and better enforcement to prevent further mail thefts in the area .
