The Shreveport Police Department is intensifying its efforts to keep impaired drivers off the roads. Between December 16 and December 22, 2024, 11 individuals were arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI).
A department spokesperson stated, “The Shreveport Police Department is committed to leading the state in DWI enforcement. Our highly trained officers are dedicated to ensuring the safety of our roadways.”

With the holiday season in full swing, the department is urging residents to plan ahead. Using rideshare services or designating a sober driver is strongly recommended to avoid the dangers of impaired driving.
“Choosing to drink and drive is a major risk,” the statement continued, “not just to your life, but also to the lives of others. And, of course, you risk encountering one of our DWI enforcement officers.”
