Tragic Hit-and-Run in Los Angeles – Skateboarder, 22, Left Critically Injured

Los Angeles(Thechieftainspear) – A 22-year-old man lost his life in a tragic hit-and-run while skateboarding in Koreatown, leaving his family devastated and searching for answers. The fatal crash occurred early Thursday morning near the intersection of 6th Street and Catalina Street, according to authorities.

Surveillance Footage Captures the Impact

Security camera footage from a nearby business captured the moment a gray four-door sedan struck the skateboarder as he approached 6th Street. The driver continued westbound without stopping, leaving the young man fatally injured at the scene.

While the footage provided a glimpse of the vehicle, it did not reveal clear details about the driver’s identity. Investigators are reviewing additional surveillance cameras in the area to see if any other footage offers a better view of the incident.

Police Search for Clues

Authorities closed 6th Street between Berendo and Kenmore Avenue for several hours while gathering evidence. Among the heartbreaking sights at the crash scene were a white canopy covering the victim’s body, a single shoe knocked loose by the impact, and shattered fragments of his skateboard.

Investigators noted that parts of the suspect’s vehicle were left behind due to the force of the crash. They believe these fragments may provide critical clues in identifying the driver.

Victim’s Family Calls for Justice

The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the victim’s name. His grieving family gathered at the scene but declined to speak with reporters. They did, however, express hope that the person responsible will take accountability and turn themselves in.
