Riverside County Shooting: 4 Suspects Arrested for Attempted Murder

(Thechieftainspear) – Authorities have arrested four individuals in connection with a shooting in Lake Elsinore, where a man was wounded in the leg in what investigators believe was a gang-related attack.

Suspects Identified

The suspects, all from Lake Elsinore, were taken into custody following an investigation by local law enforcement. They have been identified as:

  • Robert Flores, 18

  • Jonathan Juarez, 19

  • Alberto Garcia, 20

  • A 17-year-old male (name withheld due to age)

Shooting Incident

The case began in December 2024, when deputies responded to a call about an assault with a deadly weapon. Upon arrival, they found a male victim with a gunshot wound to the leg.

The victim recounted that he had been walking home from a convenience store when he suddenly heard gunfire and realized he had been shot. The assailants had already fled the scene by the time authorities arrived.

Investigation and Arrests

Detectives from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Team and the Region 4 Gang Task Force launched an investigation. Their findings suggested that a local street gang had planned and carried out the shooting.

In February 2025, law enforcement executed search warrants at multiple undisclosed locations, leading to the arrests of all four suspects.

The 17-year-old suspect was charged with attempted murder, while Flores, Juarez, and Garcia were charged with conspiracy and attempted murder.

Ongoing Investigation

Authorities have not disclosed a motive for the shooting or the relationship between the suspects and the victim. Prosecutors are also pursuing gang-related enhancements in the case.

“The Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station and Region 4 Gang Task Force remain committed to eradicating gang-related crime and ensuring perpetrators face the full extent of the law,” the sheriff’s department stated.
