Los Angeles(Thechieftainspear) – The Los Angeles Dodgers will be without last year’s World Series MVP, Freddie Freeman, for Monday night’s matchup against the Atlanta Braves due to an unexpected injury—one that didn’t happen on the field.
According to The Athletic’s Fabian Ardaya, Freeman suffered a minor setback at home after tweaking his right ankle in the shower. This is the same ankle that underwent surgery in December following an injury late last season. Despite dealing with discomfort, Freeman powered through the playoffs, hitting four consecutive home runs in the World Series, including a dramatic walk-off grand slam against the Yankees in Game 1.

The severity of his current injury is not yet clear, but Freeman is listed as day-to-day. This comes shortly after he missed the Dodgers’ season opener in Japan due to rib soreness.
The Orange County native has been off to a strong start in 2025, already tallying two home runs in just 12 at-bats.
The Dodgers enter the series against the Braves with an undefeated 5-0 record, while Atlanta is still searching for its first win at 0-4.
