Huge Crowds at Dodger Stadium for First Ohtani Bobblehead Giveaway

(Thechieftainspear) – Excitement filled Dodger Stadium on Wednesday as fans flocked to claim the first Shohei Ohtani bobblehead of the 2025 season. Lines stretched around the stadium hours before the gates opened, with supporters and collectors eager to get their hands on the coveted giveaway.

The limited-edition bobblehead showcases Ohtani in his white Dodgers home uniform, holding a black bat over his shoulder and proudly displaying his 2024 National League MVP award. It marks the first of four Ohtani bobbleheads the Dodgers plan to distribute this season.

Many dedicated fans arrived five to six hours early to secure their collectible, while some opportunistic resellers saw a chance to profit. By 5 p.m., listings for the giveaway item had already surfaced on eBay, with some sellers asking for several hundred dollars. Last season, certain stadium giveaways fetched as much as $1,000 online.

The giveaway coincided with the Dodgers’ matchup against the Atlanta Braves, with first pitch scheduled for 5:40 p.m. The team entered the game with a perfect 7-0 record, including two season-opening wins in Ohtani’s home country of Japan.

The next Ohtani bobblehead promotion is set for May 15 and will feature the two-way superstar in a sliding pose—celebrating his record-setting 2024 campaign, during which he became the first player in MLB history to hit 50 home runs while also stealing 50 bases in a single season.
