Santa Ana Crash Victims Identified: Sisters Among 4 Teens Dead

Santa Ana(Thechieftainspear) – A tragic high-speed crash in Santa Ana over the weekend has claimed the lives of four young people, leaving two others hospitalized in critical and grave condition. The devastating collision occurred late Friday night, April 5, and has shaken the local community as families mourn and search for answers.

The incident unfolded just before midnight near the intersection of West Segerstrom Avenue and South Townsend Street. According to Santa Ana Police, a single vehicle with six occupants — five females and one male — was traveling westbound on Segerstrom at a high rate of speed when the 18-year-old male driver lost control. The vehicle veered off course and slammed into a tree in the center median.

The force of the crash was so severe that two passengers were ejected from the vehicle, and the car was left mangled and nearly unrecognizable. A nearby black sedan sustained minor damage during the incident, though no one in that vehicle was injured.

Firefighters and emergency responders quickly arrived on scene, with video footage showing crews using ladders to access the wrecked car as flashing lights filled the street. Four of the six individuals inside the car were declared dead at the scene. The other two, including a 15-year-old girl, were transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Family members have begun to identify some of the victims. Among them is 19-year-old Aurelia “Arely” Robles, whose father, Ignacio Robles, remembered her as a quiet, generous, and devoted daughter. “She worked and gave everything to her mom,” he shared in Spanish. “She was a good girl. She loved her mom with all her heart.”

Arely’s younger sister, 15-year-old Arlene Robles, was also in the car and survived the crash. She remains hospitalized in critical but stable condition and is expected to undergo surgery for injuries sustained in the crash. “She’s a little disfigured, but she’s holding on,” their father added.

Authorities have not yet released the official identities of the deceased, but community members say that several of the teens involved were friends and classmates from Valley High School and Carr Intermediate in Santa Ana.

A memorial is growing at the crash site, where friends and family are leaving candles, flowers, and messages of remembrance. A GoFundMe campaign organized by Jasmin Robles, a sibling of the Robles sisters, described Arely as “a bright light, kind and full of dreams,” and asked for support as the family prepares for funeral expenses.

The Santa Ana Police Department continues to investigate the crash, including whether speed or other factors played a role. No arrests have been made as of now.
