3 Arrested After Chaotic Manhunt Triggered by 134 Freeway Crash in L.A.

(Thechieftainspear) –A chaotic scene unfolded in the Eagle Rock area of Los Angeles on Tuesday afternoon following a multi-vehicle collision on the 134 Freeway that led to a police search, gunfire, and multiple detentions.

California Highway Patrol officers were called to the eastbound lanes of the 134 Freeway, just west of Figueroa Street, shortly after 3 p.m. for a reported traffic collision involving several vehicles. However, what began as a standard freeway crash quickly turned into a sprawling manhunt.

Authorities say up to three individuals fled the crash site on foot, disappearing into the surrounding residential neighborhood. Unconfirmed reports suggest one male suspect entered a home in the 1200 block of Eagle Vista Drive and ended up in the backyard, where he jumped into the swimming pool.

At approximately 4 p.m., a woman reportedly emerged from the same home and discharged a firearm, escalating the situation. Around that time, officers detained the male suspect—dressed only in his underwear after stripping down to enter the pool.

Not long after, two women exited the residence with their hands raised and were taken into custody without incident. One of the women was later transported to a hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department personnel for injuries that have not yet been specified.

By 5:45 p.m., a juvenile also emerged from the house, complying with police orders and walking to a patrol vehicle with hands in the air.

Police have not confirmed whether any suspects remain at large in connection with the original freeway crash. The identity and role of each person detained are still being reviewed.

Just after 8:30 p.m., the Los Angeles Police Department announced via X (formerly Twitter) that a police shooting investigation was underway in the 1200 block of Eagle Vista Drive, although details remain scarce.

Officials did confirm that at least one individual involved in the freeway crash was transported by ambulance to the hospital. No injuries have been reported among responding officers.

The investigation is ongoing, and police have yet to provide a clear motive or explanation for the suspects’ actions following the crash.
